Thank you for making this years ‘Ides of March Spaghetti Dinner’ a huge success. Due to your generous contributions of time and money we will be able to repair several more things at the Lodge.
The officers finished up another set of degrees, and what a fine job they did. I especially would like to thank all the brothers that stepped in at the very last minute to help us raise our candidate. I would like to welcome our newest brother Tony Brandt. Tony it was a pleasure to have raised you, and I hope to see you soon at your Lodge.
By the time of this printing we should be under way with our next set of degrees. I know all of the brethren will do a good job. If you haven’t seen the Masonic Degrees performed for some time, please come down and join us. It’s always nice to have a few smiling faces on the sidelines. The Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, and Master Mason Degrees are scheduled for Monday, May 15th, Monday, June 19th, and Saturday, July 22nd respectively.
I would like to ask all of you to consider becoming a Life Member of Arcana Lodge. The Grand Lodge Perpetual Membership Program is a real benefit for yourself and to the Lodge. For your benefit you will never have to pay Lodge dues again thus protecting yourself from all future dues increases. The Lodge benefits from the revenue of the fund, even after your departure from earth to that celestial Lodge above. So think about helping your Lodge and yourself in perpetuity.
Until next time I see you at your Lodge. Remember meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. We will be meeting throughout the summer and serving dinner on the 4th Monday, one hour before the 2nd meeting of the month.
Fraternally yours,
Dave Sibben, WM
I address this months letter to one out of every five members in Arcana Lodge. That’s right as April draws to an end 20% of our members have yet to pay their dues for this year. More importantly, almost a quarter of those who haven’t paid their 2000 Dues are also in arrears for their 1999 Dues!
Prompt payment of your lodge dues facilitates the smooth operation of the lodge, and allows us to participate in community philanthropy in a timely manner. Due to the excessive number of delinquent dues payments this year, more than $6500, the Lodge had to vote down a motion to contribute to the Edison High School Senior Night Party. I ask all our members to check your wallet right now, and if your dues card does not say Year 2000, please get out your checkbook and send in your dues.
A few brothers have contacted the Master or myself to explain their circumstances of poor health or unemployment that has caused them to be delinquent in their dues. As Masons we are sworn to help our brothers in need. This message is not addressed to you, on the contrary, it is addressed to those members who have overlooked, or neglected their obligation to the Lodge. It is addressed to the few who make it difficult for the lodge to contribute to the relief of those in need.
The easiest way to keep current on you Masonic dues is to take advantage of the Grand Lodge’s Perpetual Life Membership Plan. The program gives brothers the opportunity to make a one-time investment for life membership in the Masonic Fraternity. Several Arcana members have joined the life membership plan along with over 500 brothers across the state last year alone. By investing in the program you will gain peace of mind that you will never pay lodge dues again, insurance against future dues increases, a guarantee that your dues will be paid regardless of life circumstances or changes, and an endowment for support of your lodge even after you’ve answered the roll call of the Great Architect of the Universe.
There is a special incentive this year for new members (valid for one year from the date you were raised,) and for 50-year members. Please contact the secretary or the Grand Lodge for details of the program and this years incentives.
Fraternally yours,
Doug Roswold, PM, Secretary
As your new Lodge Secretary I’ve noticed that I still have quite a few dues cards left. This can only mean one thing, some of you have not paid your year 2000 dues (and even a few of have yet to send in your 1999 dues.)
Please check your wallet, and if your dues card does not say “Year 2000” you, not your computer, but you as a member of Arcana Lodge, are not “Y2K compliant.”
To fix this “Y2K” problem, simply send your check ($61 for Year 2000, $122 for 1999 and 2000) to:
