News From The East

STATED COMMUNCATIONS for the next two months will be Sept. 13 at 7:30 PM, Sept. 27th at 7:30 PM, Oct. 11th at 7:30 PM, and Oct. 25th at 7:30 PM. All brethren are encouraged to share in Masonic fellowship at lodge dinners just before the second communication of each month. Dinners begin at 6:30 PM and cost $5. Please contact Curt Johnson at (651) 633-0166 if you plan on attending a dinner.

WELCOME new brother William Bauer, who received the Third Degree on June 06th at Lake Harriet Lodge No. 277 (south Minneapolis). Brother Bauer received the First and Second Degrees in our lodge this past spring. Worshipful Master Dave Sibben, Worship Brother John Fosdick, Brothers Al Nagele, Vern Bandel, Aleksandr Ivanov, and Carl Lundin were in attendance. Worshipful Master Sibben and Brother Nagele -- Will's primary sponsor and long-time family friend -- raised Brother Bauer into our honored fraternity.

CONGRATULATION to Brother Einar Anderson, whom recently celebrated his 94th birthday!

CONGRATULATIONS to Brother Aleksandr Ivanov, who was married to Natalya Kenigsberg last month in the beautiful Lake Harriet Rose Garden. The wedding was witnessed by family and close friends, and was officiated by Brother Carl Lundin.

ARCANA KIDS ID PROGRAM occurred May 25th in Boom Island Park (NE Minneapolis). Worshipful Brother Chuck Berger and Brother Steve Northquest assisted in the creation of approximately 18 Kids ID Kits. The Kids ID Program will run again during the 2004 State Fair at the Grand Lodge of Minnesota booth.

GRAND LODGE BOOTH AT THE STATE FAIR: Masons from throughout Minnesota will assist in manning this year's Grand Lodge State Fair booth. The booth will run every day (Aug 26 - Sept 6) from 9:00AM to 9:00PM, and will help parents put together Kids ID kits for their children. DID YOU KNOW that, at one time, Golden Lodge No. 5 in Stanstead, Canada occupied a lodge room that straddled the boundary between Canada and the United States? There were entrances on both sides of the border.

FALL DEGREE SCHEDULE: First Degree on September 20th at 6:30PM, Second Degree on October 18th at 6:30PM, and Third Degree on November 20th at 4:00PM. Please support our potential new brethren by attending -- and, if at all possible, participating in -- these degrees.

DEGREE REHEARSALS will be September 13th at 8:30 PM, October 11th at 8:30 PM, and November 15th at 7:30 PM.

APPENDANT BODIES AT ARCANA: Order of the Easter Star: The first OES meeting of the fall will be September 07th at 7:30 PM. This first meeting will honor Rob Morris, founder of the OES. Regular meetings thereafter will be the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM. Cryptic Masons, Minneapolis Council No. 2: No news reported this month. DeMolay, Lincoln Chapter: No news reported this month.
