New Members Welcome
very Master of a Masonic Lodge is grateful for the assistance he receives from the brethren of the Lodge. At no time is it more appreciated then during degrees. I would like to thank all the officers, brothers, and especially the Past Masters who are devoting their time to ensure the success of the upcoming degrees.
Complements are in order for Arcana Chapter #38 on a very nice Valentine Brunch held on Feb. 16. The food was as delicious as the atmosphere was charming.

It Isn't The Lodge -- It's You
his month I would like to share a poem I received over the internet from Brother Tom Lewis Dean, <tldean@telis.org> PM, Oxnard Lodge 341, Oxnard, CA.
Around the turn of the century an unknown author penned a poem titled It Isn't The Church -- It's You. Brother Dean has changed a few words to make it fit with our Masonic pages.
When everything seems to be going
wrong,
And trouble seems everywhere brewing;
When Lodge meeting, Officer's meeting, and all,
Seem simmering slowly -- stewing,
Just take a look at yourself and say,
"What's the use of being blue?"
Are you doing your "bit" to make things
"hit"?
It isn't the Lodge -- it's you.
It's really strange
sometimes, don't you know,
That things go as well as they do,
when we think of the little -- the very small mite -
We add to the work of the few.
We sit, and stand around, and complain of what's done,
And do very little but fuss.
Are we bearing our share of the burdens to bear?
It isn't the Lodge -- it's us.
So, if you want to have
the kind of a Lodge
Like the kind of a Lodge you like,
Put off your guile, and put on your best smile,
And hike, my brother, just hike,
To the work in hand that has to be done --
The work of helping the few.
It isn't the Lodge that is wrong, my boy;
It isn't the Lodge -- it's you.
Brother Deans pen is timely indeed. Please think of these words on March 31st, and April 26th, and come to the Lodge to show your support for our new candidates at the Fellowcraft and Master Mason degrees.
